Arising in 1755, the Engelsbad spring was newly tapped in 1821 by Joseph Kornhäusel and is still used as a bath today. The bath was built at the same time as the neighbouring Sauerhof. Today it is part of the Engelsbad Sanatorium Sozialversicherungsanstalt für Öffentlich Bedienstete (BVA) (Social Insurance Institution for Public employees).
